Pauline Olive (Dodson) Cotton, age 90, of Caney and formerly of Independence passed away on Friday, December 4, 2020 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Pauline was born July 11, 1930 in Oak Valley, KS to Thomas and Olive Esther (Lightner) Dodson. The family later moved to Independence, and it is there that Pauline attended local schools and graduated from Independence High School with the class of 1948. After high school she joined the workforce finding employment as an operator for Southwestern Bell. Pauline would devote 34 years of dedicated service before her retirement. Pauline was united in marriage to Delwin Cotton Sr on November 11, 1966. The couple resided in Independence until making Caney their home since 1988.
Pauline’s memories will live on with her children, Karla Webb; Karen Cronk and her husband Larry; Delwin Cotton Jr and his wife Joanna; and Teresa Gault and her husband John; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She now rests with her parents; her husband Delwin; twin brother Paul Thomas Dodson, and brothers Wilbur Gene Dodson and William Dodson; sisters Leah Dodson and Wilma Jean Dodson.
Friends are invited to sign the register and greet the family at Webb and Rodrick Chapel on Thursday, December 10, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at which time we will process to Mount Hope Cemetery.
