Marty Raney

Independence, Kansas

Marty D. Raney, 60, Independence, Kansas passed away on Thursday, September 29, 2022, at Labette Health in Independence, Kansas due to injuries received in an accident. Friends may register on Friday, October 7, 2022, from 12 Noon until 7:00 p.m., with the family greeting guest from 5-7:00 p.m., at Webb & Rodrick Chapel and Crematory. Following the visitation cremation will take place. Memorial contributions may be made to Pam and may be left with the chapel.

Marty was born March 21, 1962, in Coffeyville, Kansas to Walter R. and Shirley (Green) Raney. He was raised by Judy Raney. He attended and graduated Cherryvale High School and was employed by the City of Independence, Kansas and was currently employed by Green Environmental Waste at the time of his passing. Marty was passionate about his beloved wife Pam, family, and his love for his Heavenly Father; he loved to share the story of Jesus Christ.

Marty never met a stranger and loved to visit with people. He enjoyed hunting with his sons and was an avid fisherman and spending time with his children and grandchildren. Marty liked playing basketball and softball.

Marty was a happy and extremely hard-working humble man that strived to provide for his family. Marty is a member of the First Southern Baptist Church. Marty will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Those left to cherish Marty’s memory include his parents,  wife Pam, two sons, Jeremiah (Katy) Raney, Coffeyville, KS; Jesse Raney, Independence, KS; one daughter, Elizabeth Raney, Independence, KS; four brothers, Jim Bob Raney, Los Angles, CA; Kevin Raney, New York City, NY; Justin Raney, Coffeyville, KS; Freddy Wisenhunt,  two sisters, Jody ( Garrett) Stritzke, Coffeyville, KS;  Maria Arney, and seven grandchildren, Brennin Dewey, Hunter Dewey, Drake Dewey, Penelope Valentine, Jace Valentine, Chance Stevens, Bree Raney, and Hays Raney.
