Jimmie Ted Cromwell “Ted “ of Independence, KS danced his way to heaven Sunday, May 1, 2022. Ted loved his family and lived life to the fullest. Cromwell to his passing at his home with his daughter Cindy and his best friend Sandy at his side.

There will be visitation on Sunday, May 8th (Mother’s Day) from 2-4pm at Webb Rodrick. There will be a celebration of his life in Sayre, Ok later this Summer. Details will be shared as the plans are finalized.
He was a very proud graduate from Sayre High School. He reveled in his memories of playing football, basketball, baseball and track for his Sayre Eagles with his brother WD “Dub” Cromwell and his good friends  He loved sports all his life including playing golf, bowling, shooting pool, softball and encouraging his kids and grandkids to love sports.
Ted loved dancing almost as much as sports especially with his best friend, Sandy. It was pure joy to watch them do their smooth moves around the dance floor!!
He was a business owner most of his working years. He farmed, milked cows at the dairy, worked for the Oklahoma Highway Department, ranched for Walter Merrick and sang in church at Prairie View Baptist Church before moving the family  from Elk City, Ok to Elk City, KS to work for Walter on the  J Bar J Ranch.
He and his first wife Sharon Crabtree Cromwell divorced about a year later and Ted moved to Independence where he later met and married Sandy. He started his business ownership with Ted’s Club in the early 1980’s. He built that business to a very successful place for the community to get together to visit, relax and dance to some great live bands or good DJ’s. After he sold the club he continued his entrepreneurial quest by starting Cromwell Contracting. He did trucking and excavation with Cromwell Contracting until he finally retired at the age of 75.
He was preceded in death by his parents Lavada and Walter Cromwell, brother WD “Dub” Cromwell and son Jim Ted Cromwell.
Ted is survived by his daughter Cindy Cromwell Cook and son-in-law Rick Cook, ex-wife and best friend Sandra Cromwell, step-son Bill Thomison and daughter-in-law Kathy Thomison, step-daughter Lauri Thomison, sister Sharon and brother-in-law George Hesser, sister Sherry and brother-in-law Glen Hensley.
Ted was blessed with a beautiful blended family which includes 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. He loved all of his family with his whole heart.  He will be missed by all his family and friends.
