Betty Nance

Betty June Nance age 97, passed away Wednesday, July 20, 2022 at the Medicalodges in Independence, Kansas.

Betty was born October 27, 1924 in rural Montgomery County, Kansas to Elwood and Ruth (McCorkle) Avery. She grew up in the Montgomery County area and attended schools at Jefferson.

On July 8, 1941 Betty married Paul Nance in Webb City, Missouri. The couple made their home in the Independence, Kansas area. Paul preceded her in death on March 2, 2010. Betty was a homemaker and also worked at Electra Manufacturing for 9 years. Betty loved sitting on the front porch at the house.

Survivors include four children Jeanette Klofkorn of Lyndon, Kansas, Joyce Williams of Jenks, Oklahoma, Tom Nance of Independence, Kansas and Bob Nance of Cherryvale, Kansas; nine grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by siblings, Bob Avery, Mary Ann Perkins, Lois Lawther, Louise LaForte, Hazel Antle, Charles Avery, Floyd Avery, Iva Broninberg, Judy Plumb, Larry Avery, James and Ruth Regina.
