Christopher Lee Jones
1996 – 2018
Christopher Lee Jones, 21, passed away on February 7th at Wesley Medical Center in Wichita, KS. He was born on August 21st, 1996 to Thomas Lee Jones and Marcia Carvalho, in Coffeyville, Kansas. He has an older brother, Sean Michael Jones.
Chris was a bright, energetic, hardworking, loyal man who would drop anything to help those he cared about. At times he would take on too much but would never complain. He enjoyed working on vehicles for restorations and upgrades and enjoyed racing them. If he wasn’t at work or in the garage, he was probably at the gym.
Chris played football, baseball, and basketball in high school. Upon graduation in 2014, he attended Independence Community College and continued his football career until graduating with his associates in 2016. He then attended Wichita State University in pursuing a Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering while working an internship at Standard Motor Products.
Chris leaves behind his parents, his brother, and many friends.
A memorial service will be held to honor Chris’ life at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 17th at the First Church of The Nazarene located at 3167 South 10th Street, Independence, Kansas 67301.
